1. Who We Are

Badger Compounds, LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company (“Badger Compounds”, “we”, “us”), operates badgercompounds.com. We are a United States supplier of laboratory research materials. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

2. Scope

This policy covers personal information collected through our website, when you create an account, place an order, complete the research-access attestation, contact support, or subscribe to communications.

3. Information We Collect

You provide: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone, account credentials, order history, communications with support, and — where offered — declared research status and institution.

Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, screen dimensions, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, and identifiers set by cookies and similar technologies.

Research-access attestation. When you complete the attestation required to view our catalog, we record the date and time, your IP address, your declared research status, the version of the terms shown to you, and your browser user-agent string. We collect this to evidence that the attestation was made and to enforce our Terms. We treat it as a record of compliance and retain it as described in Section 8.

Order attestation. When you place an order, we record a second research-use confirmation with the order, including date, time, and IP address.

Payment information is collected and processed by our payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers.

4. How We Use Your Information

To process and fulfill orders; manage your account; provide support; operate the rewards program; send transactional messages; send marketing where you have opted in (you may opt out at any time); detect and prevent fraud and abuse; verify and enforce the research-use attestation and our Terms; measure and improve the site; and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, tags, and scripts in three categories:

• Strictly necessary — session, cart, security, checkout, and the research-access attestation cookies. Set without consent, because the site cannot operate without them.
• Statistics — how the site is used.
• Marketing — measuring campaigns and showing relevant advertising on other platforms.

Consent. Statistics and marketing technologies are blocked until you consent through our cookie banner. This is enforced technically, not merely announced: the relevant scripts are prevented from loading until consent is given. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the consent preferences control on our site.

Global Privacy Control. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not fire advertising tags for that visit.

You can also control cookies through your browser. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent the site from functioning.

6. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell personal information for money. We share it with the following categories and providers so they can perform services for us:

7. Advertising and “Sale” or “Sharing” of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money.

However, some advertising and analytics technologies on this site — including the Meta advertising pixel and Google advertising tags — may transfer identifiers to those platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under certain U.S. state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, that activity may be treated as “selling” or “sharing” personal information even where no money changes hands.

8. How Long We Keep Information

We keep information longer where required by law or where it is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know what we collect and how it is used; access a copy; correct inaccuracies; delete information; obtain a portable copy; opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing; and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

We will verify your identity — typically by confirming details associated with your account or a recent order — and respond within the period required by applicable law (generally 45 days, extendable once). An authorized agent may submit a request with written proof of authorization.

Note on attestation records: where you ask us to delete information, we may retain research-use attestation records where retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish or defend a legal claim. We will tell you if this applies.

10. Notice for California Residents

In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 3: identifiers, customer records, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation inferred from IP address, and inferences drawn from the above. Sources and purposes are described in Sections 3 and 4; recipients in Section 6.

We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. As described in Section 7, some advertising technologies may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.

California residents may: request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces collected; request deletion; request correction; opt out of sale or sharing; and limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a limitation right).

To opt out of sale or sharing, you may: decline or withdraw marketing consent using the consent preferences control on our site; send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser, which we honour automatically; or email [email protected].

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

11. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of states including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, and opt out of targeted advertising. Use the same contact method in Section 9. Where your state provides an appeal process, you may appeal a refusal by replying to our decision; we will respond within the statutory period.

12. Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed to children, and our products require an attestation that the visitor is at least 21 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 21, we will delete it and cancel any associated order. Parents or guardians may contact [email protected].

13. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls on administrative systems, and a web application firewall. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Visitors Outside the United States

We ship only within the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and our services are directed to the United States. If you access this site from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

15. Third-Party Links

Our site may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date above and, where required, by additional notice.
